  • High social impact: Established in 2019, Accelerate Global has impacted more than 600 individuals across all walks of life, from university graduates to refugees and stateless youths. All of their graduates from both the entrepreneurship and career programs have either developed into self-sustaining entrepreneurs who are generating their own income or have pursued their dream careers.

100% of the youths who attended their workshops, programs and boot camps have continued to support them through social media and online engagements — Accelerate Global boasts a youth retention rate of 50%.
  • The Team: Their team consists of a group of advocates who believe in change and are youth empowerment enthusiasts. CEO & Founder Raudhah Nazran, a Law graduate from the United Kingdom, started Accelerate Global with zero capital and successfully capitalized on a zero-cost strategy.

She cut her teeth in social entrepreneurship in university when she was appointed as the first Asian Muslim female to be appointed by the board of advisors as the President of a social enterprise (Enactus Essex). There, she successfully led a diverse team of 104 individuals and micro-managed five social enterprises projects; she was the first Asian Muslim to win the Enactus President and Team Leader of the Year award in the United Kingdom, followed by bringing the social enterprise to the Top 3 Enactus Social Enterprises in the United Kingdom. Her impact had not gone unnoticed. She was later called to the Parliament of the UK by Lord Michael Hastings to speak and discuss the issues surrounding youth unemployment and was also a guest speaker at the University of Essex United Nations Humans Rights Conference on children's rights to education.

Her social entrepreneurship journey was also recognised by the media outlets in Malaysia as she was recently interviewed by two TV Channels, RTM 1 and Astro Awani.
  • A strong network of advisors, affiliates and partners: Accelerate Global’s Board of Advisors consists of UK-based Barry Van Eupen, the former Divisional Chief Financial Officer of Schlumberger Limited and currently the Board of Trustee of the University of Essex, Malaysia-based Claudia Cadena, the former Chief Human Resources Officer of Malaysia Airlines and Founder of startup Thread Advisory, Ahmed Faris Amir the Chief Executive Officer of Impact Malaysia and Nadiah Tan Abdullah, the Chief Human Resources Officer of SP Setia Berhad.
  • Over the years, Raudhah has built a strong network of affiliates and partnerships consisting of notable industry names such as the American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce Malaysia, American corporate giant Micron, non-profit Yayasan Chow Kit, as well as the Polytechnic and College Community Department under the Ministry of Higher Education, among others.
  • Proof of concept: Accelerate Global had spent two years bootstrapping, piloting, testing and validating its business model and programs. Today, they run high-impact upskilling and incubation programs on career and entrepreneurship that have proven to develop resilient, creative and independent youths, capable of becoming job creators. Under their Accelerate Reach Entrepreneurship program, all the participating youths have graduated with a business of their own in which they personally manage and operate. One of their most notable success stories include how they helped a group of 43 stateless youths in the small village of Saga 1, Sepanggar, Sabah to establish Nanaslab, a Malaysian social enterprise selling pineapple jam following a 4-month long entrepreneurship programme divided into four phases. This program was fully funded by Micron Malaysia through the MY-AMCHAM COVID19 Fund. This story was also picked up by Ram Anand, the journalist of The Straits Times Singapore.
  • Unique business model: Accelerate Global will introduce a subscription-based model, where privileged youths will pay either a monthly or annual subscription fee to access their courses and programs. The subscription is priced at RM30 monthly or RM300 annually. Along with this, they too will be introducing a 1:1 ratio business model where for every 1 subscription fee paid, 1 underprivileged youth will be given access to their programs and courses.

This allows their revenue stream to be less dependent on sponsorships and grants thus allowing equal education access for the underprivileged and marginalised. Their newly refined 1:1 ratio business model has the potential to be a real game-changer, and ultimately strengthen the social entrepreneurship landscape in Malaysia. The model not only benefits the privileged, the underprivileged and the marginalized, it also benefits the nation as it will indirectly develop empathy and compassion amongst youths.

Founded in 2019, Accelerate Global is a social enterprise aimed at tackling youth unemployment issues worldwide through upskilling programs developing youths into becoming entrepreneurs of their own as well as providing them with career-ready skills. Though based in Malaysia, their programs are accessible globally, anytime, anywhere. Three of their signature programs include the Accelerate Reach Entrepreneurship Program, the 14-Day Entrepreneurship Boot Camp as well as their Career Webinar Series or formerly known as the 5-Day Career Boot Camp,

Their work in upskilling youths, building tangible and meaningful change into their lives is recognised by not just the media outlets such as The Vulcan Post and The Star but also by the Polytechnic and College Community Department under the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia as they were called during the Movement Control Order to present the success of their 14-Day Virtual Entrepreneurship Boot Camp with B40 polytechnic youths.

Their recent success includes securing funding from the American Chambers of Commerce Malaysia and Micron Malaysia, allowing Accelerate Global to develop 43 stateless youths in Sabah into becoming micro entrepreneurs who are now running their own pineapple jam business called The Nanas Lab. More to that, 19 refugee youths from Yayasan Chow Kit have just recently graduated and now are running their own businesses!

The rise in the youth unemployment rate is due to a lack of practical knowledge and skills.

More than 50% of the world’s population is dominated by youths, yet the youth unemployment rate is 3x higher than adult unemployment in itself. Exam-oriented education is taking a toll on the youths’ job prospects now more than ever, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic. The youths dependency on employment is leaving them unemployed thus exposing them to threats of poverty and homelessness.

Quality upskilling programs and courses are either expensive, unattractive or both!

For most youths, finding quality upskilling programs and courses that are affordable and fun to learn is like hunting for a needle in a haystack.

Underprivileged and marginalized youths are not given the same opportunity to learn.

Underprivileged and marginalized youths are often sidelined especially with the advancement of technology and language barriers. Help is only given when there are fundings or sponsorship from large corporations, which should not be the case.

Initial Solution

Accelerate Global’s solution to these problems is a back-to-basics simple solution and that is to provide quality market related upskilling programs that actually work. Their upskilling programs are developed in-house and are centred around building independent, self-sustaining youths. Three of their signature programs include:

Accelerate Reach Entrepreneurship Program:

The Accelerate Reach Entrepreneurship Program is 3 months and a 1/2 long program followed by a 4-month business incubation period aimed at helping the underprivileged and the marginalised youths become entrepreneurs of their own.

19 refugee youths of Yayasan Chow Kit have recently graduated from this program and are now running their own businesses! The graduates now have their own Instagram account to market their products called YCK Children Entrepreneurs and was also featured on The Star. This program was supported and sponsored by Yayasan Hasanah, PwC Malaysia and private sponsors.

Accelerate Global also successfully ran this program with 43 stateless youths in Sabah in which all of the youths are currently running their own pineapple jam business called The Nanas Lab! They were also featured on The Vulcan Post and was briefly mentioned in The Straits Times Singapore. This program was supported and funded by Micron Malaysia under the MY-AMCHAM CARE COVID19 FUND.

14-Day Entrepreneurship Boot Camp:

The 14-Day Entrepreneurship Boot Camp is a crash rigorous 14 days boot camp aimed at helping youths such as university students, graduates and those who are unemployed start their own businesses. The end goal of this boot camp is for them to graduate with either a ready-to-launch business or better yet a business that’s already launched.

This boot camp was incepted during the Movement Control Order when Accelerate Global realised the threat COVID-19 was imposing on not just one’s health and well being but also on the youths’ employability prospects given that businesses and companies were and are still struggling to survive. This is when they partnered up with 3 Polytechnics in Sarawak and piloted this boot camp with 20 bottom 40 income (B40) students. The pilot was a success and they were called by the Polytechnic and College Community Department to present the success report.

To name a few successes, Wendy Anak Awie a student from Politeknik METrO Betong is currently running her own Roti Canai Kapit business. Marxleo Wan Leo from Politeknik Mukah Sarawak managed to sell eight inflatable swimming pools during the boot camp and continued to make a living out of it! Jessica Chot Ngu representing Politeknik Kuching is currently running her sneakers business, applying everything learnt to scale her business!

5-Day Career Boot Camp (Now known as Career Webinar Series)

Accelerate Global’s 5-Day Career Boot Camp focuses on helping students in their second and final year as well as graduates to secure internships, placements or jobs. This boot camp encompasses live webinars, mock interviews and assessment centres as well as 1-1 mentoring sessions with key industry leaders.

To name a few successes, Nur Arina who was unemployed and was clueless as to how to begin her career journey; she received three job offers after applying what she’s learnt in the boot camp and is currently employed as a Management Trainee in a local bank. Adam, who was unsure about his future before joining the boot camp, secured a scholarship interview right after to pursue his dreams of becoming a navy. He is now a student at the Malaysian Maritime Academy!

Refined Solution

Analysing the extra market gaps that exist, and after having run their programs and validated their business model for 2 years, the team at Accelerate Global has come up with a more effective yet simple solution and that is to digitise all of their programs and place them onto their very own e-learning platform. This allows the privileged youths to access their programs anytime, anywhere!

This e-learning platform is subscription-based and carries Accelerate’s mission of tackling unemployment especially amongst the underprivileged and marginalised youths. They’ve decided on a 1:1 ratio business model where for every one subscription fee paid, one underprivileged youth will be given access to their programs. In other words, should they have 1000 subscribers, 1000 underprivileged youths will also be upskilled thus tackling youth unemployment at a much larger scale!

Subscription-based: Affordable e-learning platform

With the fund, Accelerate Global is looking to develop this e-learning platform, digitising all of their existing programs outlined above thus making it accessible for all youths anytime, anywhere. The annual subscription will only be RM30 per month and comes in various preferred languages. This allows youths from various backgrounds to access the upskilling courses without being thrown off by the dollar signs, conversion rates and language.

Accelerate Global Southeast Asia Summer Summit

The goal of this three-day summit is to bring together Accelerate Global’s community of subscribers and the public on a weekend summit to learn, relearn and unlearn shared topics. The Summit is also a form of networking, and a break from the constant remote online learning. Among the initiatives that will be driven from this Summit include:

Day 1 – Unlocking Personal Growth & Development
Day 2 – Unravelling One’s Career Journey & Making Tough Career Choices
Day 3 – The Student Is Now The Teacher

Accelerate Global has directly impacted more than 600 youths from all walks of life through its workshops, programs and boot camps. Graduates leave the programs with higher confidence levels and new skills.

100% of the graduates of their entrepreneurship programs are now entrepreneurs of their own and have started their own businesses!

50% of the youths who graduated from their entrepreneurship program diversified their business model, applying the knowledge learnt to generate more income.

100% of the youths who attended their workshops, programs and boot camps continued to support them through social media and online engagements. More than 50% of them reattended other workshops.

Accelerate Global is currently operating on two revenue streams:

  1. Business-to-business: Corporations/Institutions fund them to run the programs for the underprivileged and the marginalised.
  2. Business-to-consumer: Privileged youths pay to enrol into their workshops on a program to program basis.

With the development of the e-learning platform, their B2C business model will be refined to such that the privileged youths will pay for either monthly/annual subscription fee to access their courses and programs. The subscription is priced at RM30 a month and RM300 for annual subscription (< $100 a year). This will be matched with a 1:1 ratio business model where for every subscription fee paid for, 1 underprivileged or marginalised youth will be given access to their programs and courses. This newly refined B2C model will allow them to achieve sustainability and realise their dream of helping more underprivileged and marginalised youths.

Accelerate Global aims to keep their B2B model albeit having this newly refined B2C model as they have built strong relationships with corporations and businesses sponsoring their programs previously. This option will be kept open to allow corporations and businesses to fund larger projects from time to time.

A breakdown of the fund usage:

Accelerate Global is a social enterprise aimed at tackling youth unemployment issues especially amongst the underprivileged and the marginalized through upskilling programs.

Accelerate Global aims to tackle the issue of youth unemployment especially amongst the underprivileged and the marginalized through upskilling programs.
In the next five years, Accelerate Global hopes to penetrate the Southeast Asia market. By 2031, they hope to empower and improve the lives of 1 million youths, and have already penetrated the larger Asia region.
Accelerate Global believes that developing independent, self-sustaining youths is the most sustainable way to tackle unemployment. When youths are independent and are skillful to become self-sustainable, Accelerate Global not only tackles the issue of employment, rather eradicates threats of poverty and homelessness, thus providing a better future for all.

Accelerate Global decided to digitise their programs to:
  1. Maximise their market share with privileged youths after having understood their appetite and demand for remote learning and learning at their own pace. Creating an affordable subscription basis e-learning platform allows the youths to access courses and upskilling programs anytime, anywhere without having to log onto their sessions live.
  2. Build a sustainable revenue model thus allowing Accelerate Global to help more underprivileged and marginalised youths without being dependent solely on sponsorships or grants.

The Accelerate Global team is projecting a jump in revenue and profit from year 3 onwards due to the addition of a new paid program called the Accelerate Global Southeast Asia Summer Summit. As of now, the projected revenue from the Summit is RM500,000 (year 3), with a fee structure of RM1,500 per pax, but subject to future changes. The team is expecting to see a 100% yearly increase in the number of participants for the summit.

Their team consists of a group of highly experienced, passionate and dedicated individuals. Led by Raudhah Nazran, who has a solid and proven track record leading social enterprises in the UK. Tune in to her interview with Astro Awani and RTM1 to get to know her more.
In addition, Accelerate Global is also supported by a credible group of advisors and an extensive network of affiliates and partners.

Accelerate Global’s business strategy is to operate on steady growth with an average subscription of 6 months on their offered products for all subscribers. To grow their business, the team plans to add 50% new subscribers every year from year 1 to year 5.

Part of their growth strategy is to also focus on ecosystem building. From year 1 to year 5, the goal is to build an ecosystem of connected subscribers. They also aim to build a community of accelerated champions before their rapid expansion from year 5 onwards

Accelerate Global has never and will never engage in any non-halal activities both financially and non financially. All of our programs taught are based on shariah practices of starting a business. All of our programs are also compliant to best practices. We go so far as to not teach the students about loans for businesses, thus avoiding them from paying any riba.
