Community Financing: An Innovative Approach to Financial Inclusivity

  • Saturday, 18th July 2020
  • 8:00 PM (GMT+8)

The current Covid-19 pandemic has given rise to large-scale uncertainties and risks to the ‘lives and livelihoods’ across communities around the world. Its profound impact to the shrinking world economy and rising unemployment is no secret.

This crisis has impelled policymakers, governments, the financial sector and civil society to address the crucial challenges of financial exclusion, socio-economic inequalities and exacerbated poverty within our communities.

This webinar offers a unique opportunity to acquire knowledge and insights into a pioneering approach meeting the expectations as well as aspirations of our communities.

The Assadaqaat Community Finance (ACF) initiative is based on the Shariah principle of ‘no interest’ financing. They provide a secure platform to harnesses the generosity and benevolence offered by the ‘privileged’ class towards the ‘less privileged’ ones, instilling the spirit of entrepreneurship by empowering them to start and sustain MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises).

The ACF financial model is a novel approach that offers specific financing services for community development, thus contributing to a more balanced economic ecosystem with their proactive support to the severely affected members of our society.
